Declutter Your Home Daily with These 5 Easy Tips

Woman decluttering her home.As a renter, a cluttered home can be a source of great anxiety and frustration. But the process of decluttering a home can feel like you’re always battling with your stuff.

As an alternative to just moving things around, experts advise using a few specific strategies to help you declutter your home every day. Actually, if you take these five simple suggestions, you may just eliminate clutter from your rental home for life.

Start Small

Striving to declutter your entire house at once is the best approach to getting overwhelmed – and for nothing to get done. Starting small is better. Spend 5 or 10 minutes each day and focus on removing clutter from a single area. After several days, you will start to see a real difference in the amount of clutter in your house.

Give Unused Items Away

Numerous of us have unused items simply taking up space in our homes and drawers. Try choosing just one item to give away daily. In a year, that could add up to 365 things! There’s an easy way to determine which clothes to keep and which you could donate: Reverse the direction of all of your hangers. As you wear each item, return the hangers to their original position. After a few months, pick up everything you haven’t worn and donate them.

Use a Trash Bag

Try the trash bag approach if you want a more difficult method. This method involves searching the house for things you don’t need or use with a large trash bag. Fill the bag as quickly as possible, then donate or give the items away.

Create a Decluttering Checklist

Decluttering your home is a lot faster when you have clearly defined tasks. Moreover, you can track your progress by marking each task as completed. Using a checklist, focus on decluttering a little at a time for just a few minutes daily.

Use the Box Method

One method to declutter an area faster is to implement the box method. Clearly mark several containers with words like Keep, Give Away, Trash, or Re-Locate. Going one room at a time, take each item and place it into one of the boxes. Keep going until every single item is in a box. Then, accomplish by donating, re-locating, or throwing away the items in the respective box.

An additional method to do this is having baskets belonging to each household member. As the baskets are full, everyone must put their items away in their right places each day. By doing these things, you can declutter your entire house one box or basket at a time.

No matter which decluttering tip you start with, employing them can allow you to gain control over the clutter in your house and maintain a minimal amount daily.
